LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Barring a setback in pregame warm-ups, there’s important optimism throughout the Boston Celtics that ahead Gordon Hayward will make a return to the lineup for Recreation 3 of the Japanese Convention finals towards the Miami Heat on Saturday evening, sources informed ESPN.
Hayward has missed a month with a proper ankle sprain, however has progressed in current days to the cusp of a return on Saturday with the Celtics trailing the Warmth 2-0 within the best-of-seven sequence.
The Celtics upgraded his standing to questionable for Recreation 3 on Friday.
Hayward has had an impressive season for Boston — averaging 17.5 factors, 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists — and his return delivers some desperately wanted firepower from the Boston bench. Hayward has shot 38% on 3-pointers this season and 50% from the ground.
